tranqualizer: “on the street real change doesn’t come from your pocket. homes end homelessness, handouts enable it. please say “no” when asked for cash on the street.” yo charlotte you are hella rude, shady, and shitty. we know that this is a part of your plan for getting rid of homeless/unhoused folks in preparation for dnc this fall which y’all are getting paid HELLA money for to hire outside cops and get them shiny toys in addition to 25 million dollars you are not reporting. we already see you. we know that the benches downtown with bars right through the middle are not for the sake for giving people individual seats - it’s so that people cannot sleep there. we see you.  you are shitty, you are so shitty.  you know what comes from my pocket? money that’s gonna help someone meet their needs - regardless of what that is. it’s time we stop defining what peoples’ needs are for them. and yes, I am saying that for some people drinking or using drugs is a form of GETTING WHAT THEY NEED. And we need to invest in ways to meet people where they are and walk them through to finding other ways to get their needs met.  don’t talk about enabling people when this shitty ass city is not paying enough attention to FORECLOSURES, GENTRIFICATION, LACK OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING, UNEMPLOYMENT, UNDERPAID WORKERS… like DAMN. there are community centers in charlotte that are not getting CITY funding but are supporting unhoused people in a trauma-based, social-trauma based model, not a medical model, not some shitty racist, classist city model - meaning that these folks are GETTING WHAT THEY NEED.  I’m gonna say no to your racist and classist ass. y’all are so wrong for this.  done with this city.
